original woody-aromatic unisex perfume released in 2019 by the French niche perfume brand Etat Libre D' Orange.Legend has it that Newton got an apple on the head, after which he discovered the law of universal gravitation. And if the famous scientist fell asleep not under an apple tree, but under a rose bush, and on his head fell not an apple, but flower petals, would he then make his discovery or not? Reflecting on this theme, the perfumers of the brand tried to create a fragrance that reflects a deep understanding of the relationship between things.
In the top accord, the perfume gives the fruity freshness of juicy apple and litchi with spicy notes of cumin embedded in it. Freeze frame. Heated by the embers, a few pieces of oud burn very slowly. In front of our eyes, the metamorphosis of an extraordinary wood which reveals all its depth. Nevertheless, this is only a vision. Master perfumer Alberto Morillas chose not to use the natural essence of the famous wood, while rather representing its olfactory memory. The emotions evoked by the memory of the embers that turn crimson, the fine volutes perfuming at once our body, the fabrics and our skin are therefore highlighted.
In this woody memory, the Alaskan cedar is the undisputed protagonist. Rarely used in perfumery, it gently reveals nuances of leather and incense. Refreshed by coriander and bergamot, it burns with cade wood. Incandescent and radical, it becomes rounder in contact with the floral notes of rose and iris.
